Chadstone Toyota Seniors Report

It was an entertaining game in the windy conditions at Turner Rd. Although the Tunnas led for most of the game Highett dominated the inside 50’s and they eventually over ran us by 30 points. We can take positives out of the game. Bill Rist played his best game for the season. Connolls continued on from where he left off last week. Stork controlled the ruck and his handballs were a delight to watch. Matty Stuart was again prominent. Brucey played his first senior game and acquitted himself and Jamo was Jamo.  Big day next week with Stork lining up for his 200th game.

Waltzing Matilda Hotel Report

Due to injury and player unavailability we pulled Nick Cody and Hoppy of retirement but they might have wished they had stayed in bed as it was a tough day at the office for Waz’s boys.  Our backline led by Stu Masson, Stu Bastin, Matt Kenny, Cam Collett and Jacob Hurst battled hard all day.

Beachy took control of the magnets in the last quarter with immediate results or so he told us.

Paving 2000 Netball Report

Our seniors continued their good form with a 51 to 38 win over St Pauls. D2 had another big win,  D3 lost by 16. D4 knocked off Dingley by 20 whilst D5 went down by 6 to Dingley.

Milestone – 200 Games

Congratulations to Shayne “Stork” Gibbs on reaching the 200 game milestone.

Stork arrived at the club in 2003 as a very skinny raw 18 year old. He has progressed through the years from a Reserves footballer into a dominant Senior ruckman. He has experienced the lows of losing Grand Finals but has had the ultimate success of a Senior Premiership with the Tunnas. It took him a few years but has now learnt that Ruckman are not allowed to kick and now handballs the ball further than most can kick! After a year with CPL Stork was missing his “home” and came back to play with the club he loves. Great effort Stork on 200 games and hopefully many more games to come.
